How Now Brown Cow BW 1831

Cross stitch pattern from Hands Across the Sea Samplers. A stately red brick Georgian building is surrounded with a fenced lawn. Sitting in the lawn are two resting cows with 2 small dogs & a mischievous rabbit. Above the red building, the verse from "Our God, Our Help In Ages Past" written by Isaac Watts has been stitched. Birds with bright plumage reflect the English fascination with exotic plants & animals resting in trees, and urns of flowering carnations. To complete this sampler, a delightful border of strawberries has been stitched around the outside. Stitch count 254W x 273H.
