Sarah Daws Circa 1840


Cross stitch pattern from Hands Across the Sea Samplers. A reproduction of a piece stitched around 1840 by Sarah Daws, "in the eleventh year of her age." The center is a verse "to [her] ever honoured Parents." The lower section centers on a large and incredibly detailed parrot, with two ladies in fine dress on either side. The top features bright flowers in a basked and a set of three sea shells. The border is made up of large and intricate flowers in bright colors. Stitch count 294w x 523h.
