Old Scot circa 1740-60

$36.00

Cross stitch pattern from Hands Across the Sea Samplers. This un-named sampler has motifs which mark it as a Scottish piece from the 18th century. It has a stylized thistle patterned border. Bold, capital alphabets with curliques run along the top. A man stands in front of a large, gabled building on the bottom-- the artists at Hands Across the Sea Samplers theorize that this could be James Francis Edward Stuart, The Old Pretender or his son Bonnie Prince Charlie and the building Linlithgow Palace-- check out their website for more on this theory! Stitch count 240w x 271h.
