Caroline E Woolman

$16.00

Cross stitch pattern by Queenstown Sampler Designs. A reproduction sampler of a New Jersey sampler in a private collection. Presented here are two charming samplers worked by Caroline E. Woolman (1827-1902) of Burlington County, New Jersey. Sweet strawberry baskets adorn her verse sampler. It was not easy, but Caroline fit her verse inside her Greek key border.
This verse is documented on a 1792 sampler in the book American Samplers by Bolton & Coe, published in 1921. Verse, “To crown both my age & my youth Let me mark where religion has trod Since nothing but virtue and truth Can reach to the throne of my god”. Stitch count 98 wide x 217 high.
