Eliza Knight


Cross stitch pattern from Hands Across the Sea Samplers. Reproduction of a sampler stitched by Eliza Knight in the early 19th century, "as the first efforts of a youthful hand." The design includes multiple layers of natural motifs which interweave together. The center is a passage which begins "Jesus, permit they gracious name to stand." It is signed Eliza Knight and finished with the passage, "Remember now they Creator in the days of thy youth." The many trees, vines and even birds are stitched in vivid greens with red and pink highlight areas. Stitch count 276w x 368h.
